As some of you may be aware, the CSKA have arranged a trip to Ireland later this month. This coincides with the Wales V Ireland six nations rugby.

There are 9 people travelling from the CSKA for what is hoped to be an enjoyable experience.

Whilst there, members are going to get chance to train with other karate-ka from all over the world whilst visiting the delightful sights in Dublin, and obviously partaking in a Guinness or three.

For those of you not coming, prepare for some different methods of training on their return as I am sure that many new methods will be developed on what is to be an exciting weekend. Oh…… and obviously the usual photos and updates.

Japan 2011

As some of you may already be aware the CSKA are planning a trip to Japan. This is following on from previous years where we have had very successful trips over there. This will take place around March 2011. If you wish to go please let us know.

There will be opportunities for both sight seeing and also training whilst there so it will be of interest to all.

We will be making arrangements in the near future. Speak to Sensei John Barker or Stu for further information and to express your interest.

Junior Kyu Grading

A Junior Kyu Grading will be taken by Sensei Ian Smith and Sensei John Barker on Sunday 7th February 11.30 to 2.00 at Hawarden High School Sports Centre.

They will be a seperate Class for Junior Students not taking any Grading and for Adult Students.

Special Kata Course

On Sunday 31 January 11.30 to 2.00 a Shotokan Kata Course will be held at Hawarden High School Sports Hall . This is open for all Ages and Grades

SNOW!!!

Due to the current adverse weather conditions affecting North Wales and Cheshire, karate did not start back on the agreed date. We did, however, have our first session back on Tuesday 12th January 2010.

Hopefully some of us were able to work off the weight put on over Christmas!!

We are hopefully going to be back to normal from now but I will post any closures on here as and when I am made aware that Hawarden High School is closed.

Christmas break details

Would all students note that Thursday December 17th will be the last regular class of the year. We will restart on Monday 4th January 2010.

The CSKA Officers would like to take this opportunity to wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our students, as well as to all the tutors and other karatekas who have trained with us during a very successful 2009 for the Academy.

WordPress has become an excellent CMS system

Pardon our dust while we set up our new Wordpress-based site and complete the transfer of information over from the old site. We’ll be tweaking templates and adding new sections and pages as we go – so expect changes and expect the unexpected.

This new website, designed and developed by Mackintosh Consultants, will allow us to provide you with up-to-date information as quickly as possible. It’s based on WordPress and uses a Content Management System – which means the CSKA Officers can make changes themselves, without having to send them to the webmaster.

We’re looking forward to having a more dynamic site than we’ve had in the past, so please check back often.
