Nathan Mather, one of the members of Flintshire’s Chikara Shotokan Karate Academy, has recently become our newest and youngest black belt. Congratulations go to him for all his hard work and effort and we wish him well in his future in karate.
On Sunday 23rd May, 11.30 to 14.30 a Special Course will be held at Hawarden High School Sports Hall. It is to be under the instruction of Shihan Ian Smith (6th Dan). This is open for all Ages and Grades. Its focus will be Kata, Kumite and refereeing.
As some of you may be aware, the CSKA have arranged a trip to Ireland later this month. This coincides with the Wales V Ireland six nations rugby. There are 9 people travelling from the CSKA for what is hoped to be an enjoyable experience. A Junior Kyu Grading will be taken by Sensei Ian Smith and Sensei John Barker on Sunday 7th February 11.30 to 2.00 at Hawarden High School Sports Centre. They will be a seperate Class for Junior Students not taking any Grading and for Adult Students.
